My ex husband is verbally and has a record through Hardin County for domestic violence and assault. Not during our 10 year marriage but his previous marriage. I never reported abuse to authorities and now we are divorced. I live in KY and he was in KY up till few days ago. Now he moved to Canton, OH for a new position in his company and married the woman he had an affair with. He now is threatening me for custody of our 3 half year old son. I have very low income and live with my parents since he kicked us out of our home on Mothers day 2008. My ex said he hired a private investigator to follow me and that I’m exposing our son to bad things, and that I’m a lesbian, etc. None of this is true by any means. I have nothing on any records, I do not drink, do drugs. I have not dated any man since me and my ex parted. I have done everything for my son since day 1 of his life. Doctors visits, baths, sickness, just got him into preschool and therapy at 7 countues for his ADHD.
My ex has not done anything but got his everyother week visitations since I moved out. We have a custody agreement inside the property settlemet. It states he gets him every other weekend and pick up Friday at 4 and drop pff Sunday at 6pm. My ex moved and did not change the visitaion in any way through the courts. I’m scared he will take off with him to Canton, Ohio and not return him home to me. I called the police already and asked what they would do and they said all they could do is type up a report that he did not bring the chikd back when he should have. That I would have to get an attorney and fight him in Canton, Ohio to get our son back in my care.
Whats the point of having a custody order if it does not give the custodial parent the right to order thier child back home? I have been worring my self sick and just do not know what I can do? I heard he could even file for custody in Canton, Ohio even though our custody order is in Jefferson County, KY. Is anyone going through the same ordeal or has gone through this? I just need some direction. I know I will never a peace of mind as my ex is not someone who you can talk to. Thanks for any advice or help provided on here.
